Another (but the last) look from NYFW, and this happens to be one of my favorites. I connect to looks that have versatility, and even though this is a halter dress I believe it's very wearable for different occasions.

I've always been a lover of remixing the tuxedo (as I have done it in the past). This specific tuxedo dress features a military style neck line, pin stripes, and gold button embellishments in which gave me this "mobster 1920's vibe" I would have also loved to pair this hot number with some simple sky high black stilettos (to give it more of a boss lady look).

Also, how crazy but amazing is this handbag?! I came across the Columbian custom brand, and I instantly became obsessed. They play up architecture and shapes into their bags. And ladies, this bag can definitely double up as a defense mechanism!

It's not often the days where I get to mix and match fun prints & colors on the daily but the perfect moment to experiment with mixing fashion is definitely during NYFW.

One aspect that really stood out to me the first time I ever attended fashion week, was this exact point. The point that streetstyle is looked at from a different perspective than the everyday wearable outfits, it's looked at almost like art. If you would be an average spectator on the street during a fashion week, you'd probably think most outfits were crazy & inventive looking! But the reality is, most pieces worn as streetstyle, are so perfectly put together that they end up looking just as high end and chic as they should. So this time around (my second time at NYFW) I already had ideas of my own inspired look.

This is my take on streetstyle,  I wanted to add currently trending pieces (like the star print top) with pieces that I wouldn't normally wear everyday (like the clear boots & metallic satin skirt). Side note: remember that star print dress I wore back in some previous posts? It was such a hit, and I had to include some more starry looks! Anyways, to tone it down (just a little- because boring is never fab!)I added my favorite distressed denim jacket at the moment. I really feel like I've styled this jacket in so many ways, and it always ends up looking differently with every outfit.

Welcome back to my second outfit post from NYFW! This definitely an outfit that was not supposed to happen. With that said, wardrobe malfunctions are always a thing you have to be prepared for (especially on a week like fashion week). I have had my fair share of unfortunate cases where something goes wrong with my outfit, and I end up having nothing to fall back on.

This was the first day of presentations & events but also the first day I got into town. Shy of an hour and a half away from my first meeting, I was still in the process of checking into my hotel (with no room available at the moment - because we checked in the morning, when the actual check in time was 4pm). Anyways, with very little time to spare my photographer and I had to find the calmest bathroom in the whole hotel to transform it into our changing room. Mission accomplished: the gym! The manager of the hotel advised us to head over to the gym because it had a private restroom where no one would bother us....and so we did.

Unfortunately, the first outfit I had planned to wear had a major malfunction! My stress levels were rising as I only had 25 minutes for hair, makeup, and to put together a whole new look before our ride came to pick us up. As I threw on these pants and chic white crop, I thought this was going to end up looking like a disaster.....Until, my handy dandy photographer Christine pulled out this AMAZING BCBG fringed jacket piece out of no where and told me to throw it over my shoulders as she thought it would pull the whole look together. While I did so, she started to hem the bottom of my pants right in the moment because of course (you know the constant struggle if your 5ft tall). If it wasn't for her, this look would have never come together the way it did, and I'm so happy it did! It was a major hit throughout the streets of NYFW and it event got photographed by the team at Glamour Magazine Spain & Vogue!

Moral of the story, carry sewing kits everywhere, a great friend who has your back, and outfit options for every kind of situation!

Tulle & Lace Dress + A mindful memo of a dreamer

I am finally back and settled in Miami after a hectic but successful weekend in the big apple that almost seemed like a month long. This officially marks the first outfit post of New York Fashion Week and I couldn't be any happier to start sharing my favorite looks!
This dainty feminine dress from Please Don't Tell Shop was an exclusive and if you followed me on social media you may know this wasn't the first look I wore, but I couldn't help posting because OMG....This dress is a true gem. I really don't think pictures do it justice, but my amazing photographer did bring it to life in the best possible way.

Other than pointing out the obvious (about this gorgeous dress) I also wanted to take a moment to share somethings that have been on my mind lately. It's rarely ever that I share my personal side on the blog (but after all, it is a blog-and I am free to express & share my honesty with you all). My first ever fashion week was just short of a year ago, I headed to NYC for my first experience of what many call the big show of the fashion industry. I really didn't know what I was getting into, nor what I was going to do (without any invitations) but I knew I was going to show face and make a mark. Without the huge support system I have and the constant day dreams I go through on the daily, I would have never pushed myself to get out of the box.

You know that often over used quote that goes a little something like this?: "God has a reason for everything he does". I have always been an avid firm believer in that saying as my mom always instilled it on me. It wasn't till some weeks before heading to NYC that I was fired in the most immoral way (for getting really sick -almost fainting on the job & having to go home) from a job many knew my love for (web & social media director of a very popular online store). Even though I was told to never come back because I feeling sick and having to leave early, I knew I had just been fired and it was all in the plans of the man above. It still doesn't make it through my mind how someone could get fired for being ill....But anyways, besides that fact....It was the best possible thing that could have occurred. You know when one door closes, often a million other ones open (if you work hard for them to open). After the fact of falling, I was reminded that I was my own girl boss & I was my own inspiration. No one or no job could ever do that for you. I built this brand, and I am so fortunate I get to call this work everyday. A million doors have opened since, my team & I dominated in NYC and even shot streetstyle with some of the biggest photographers in the business that belong to names like Vogue & Harpers Bazaar.

Don't ever let any one try to determine your worth & dreams.....Inspire yourself, and always be 10 steps ahead of those that don't appreciate who you are. After all, they'll never be you.

(P.S) The Fashion Muse was nominated Best Fashion Blog of 2016.....Voting will begin on October 1st, details to follow. Thank you to all of you who constantly believe in the worth of dreams!

Pleated Tie Set with PopCherry

| SHOP MY LOOK |
Set c/o Pop Cherry (Top)(Pants) | Fluffy heels c/o Traffic

Photography: Christine Michelle

I am headed to NYC bright and early tomorrow for the madness of New York Fashion Week, hence this post being shorter than usual. The days right before any fashion week is always so crazy. I have amazing looks planned (so many that I was barely able to close my suitcase, but I mean...what's new?) Anyways, I believe that the best part of my job as a blogger is being able to connect and collaborate with brands globally.

With that said, I teamed up with one of my favorite Australian brands (PopCherry) for this post and some fashion week looks as well. Two piece sets are always an essential for me to have because they are always the perfect versatile & simplest type of outfit you can ever throw together. For this look, the ties at the waist were actually added by me because you can actually have it tied in the back. I thought it gave the look a little bit more of a rough edge to it (but you can definitely tie it to your choosing).

Also, a big announcement I wanted to mention.....This weekend (Saturday, Sept 10th) I will be taking over Pop Cherries snapchat and giving you all an inside look at what NYFW is all about (and of course, some scenic views of NYC will most definitely be included). I hope to connect with you all on snapchat during the takeover!

Until next post,

Everyday Runway with Kohls

| SHOP MY LOOK |
Top c/o Kohls | Skirt: Forever 21 (Similar Here) | Boots: Lola Shoetique | Lipstick: Kylie Cosmetics "Kourt K"

Photography: Christine Michelle

As women, we are empowering and most of the time (if not all the time) very busy. Today I have teamed up with Kohls for an everyday runway look. This is a concept I have always admired and try to embody in my everyday life. Just as the "everyday runway" states, we can definitely conquer our everyday as our runway. No matter where you work, or what type of life you live on the daily, it's important that we have our own personal style & that we are free to embrace it whenever and wherever! Looking your best doesn't always mean splurging on an outfit or even being "overdressed". Although, I am always on #teamoverdressed, a simple blouse & a denim skirt can take you a long way!

When I was styling this look, I wanted to feature a feminine blouse that the "every day woman" could wear on any type of occasion. I came across Lauren Conrad's collection (which could be exclusively found at Kohls) and thought it was the daintiest & prettiest line I had seen a while. The lace detailing provides an elegant and delicate detailing, while the collar tie gives this top all the spice it needs for the fall season (which you can easily slip off the collar if you'd like to wear the top without the tie). Statement pieces like this top are so important to have because like I have said a million times, they can really transform an entire look and give it a chic everyday runway touch.

Embrace your style, and own it.

Until next post,

Xo
