Off the Shoulder & Snake Print Shorts

This by far one of the simplest and most sleek looks I have had on replay lately. Besides the fact that it's super comfy & easy to throw on, the entire outfit is under $50!

My favorite aspect about easy going outfits like this, is the fact that every individual piece can be worn in different ways. That's what's great about having simple staples in your closet, you can mix & match! Although these snake print shorties (yes, they're shorts - but give the illusion of a skirt) are a statement piece, they are also an easy item to style pretty much anything with.

It's busy week ahead here at The Fashion Muse, as I'm currently packing for a quick business trip coming up on Wednesday that I cant wait to share with you all (you can follow along on snapchat: prissytorres) and for New York Fashion Week of course! The days before fashion week are always really stressful as mood boards for outfits & locations are being put together, show schedules, and everything else that has to be included. I will also be hosting a special snapchat take over during my days in NYC with a brand I love! More details to follow.....

Until next post,

Silk & Lace with Banana Republic

| SHOP MY LOOK |
Top & Skirt c/o Banana Republic | Boots: Lola Shoetique

Who said you could never wear silk undergarments/pj's out?! If you have seen any of my recent  posts, you may have seen my take on a little silk slip dress & on the whole silk trend. Well, today I'm back with other silk look in collaboration with Banana Republic.

There's a feminine and vintage feel to this two piece outfit that caught my eye immediately. Honestly, this whole piece is from their petite collection and it was still huge on me! I picked out X-Small for both top & bottom. The bottom is actually a skirt, but I liked how the top looked over the skirt compared to it being tucked it. As for shoes, I always have to give my edge especially if I feel the outfit can come off too matronly. I've been obsessing lately with over the ankle booties. There's a ton of variety out there (with & without the clear heel) but I think the clear heel just gave it that extra sass!

Also, major TMI (too much information) but I really wanted to style this silk top with no bra, pasties, or any kind of coverage (sorry guys, if you're reading this) But, thanks to Kendall Jenner for starting the whole "free the nipple" bandwagon. Can't a girl just feel free sometimes? Besides the fact of feeling "free" aka bra-less, I strangely love how silk looks with no bra. You can't directly tell, but it really gave off this old school Michelle Pfeiffer vibe.

Leather & Gingham Midi

| SHOP MY LOOK |
Gingham dress c/o Make Me Chic | Leather Jacket: Forever 21 | Fluff heels c/o Traffic Shoe

Photography: Christine Michelle

The official start of fall is right among us, and I couldn't help it but to start with one of my favorite patterns, gingham! As a petite, I am always worried about the length on the items that I wear. Midi dresses never seem to be an issue (when styled properly). As a matter of fact, midi dresses tend to be flattering on those who are 5'4 and below.

To make this look fall time ready, I decided to layer it with a simple faux leather jacket (which is always an essential to keep in your closet during this time) and a velvet black choker that I have been wearing non stop. Along with the seasons big trend of clear heels, fluffy ones are also making their mark. As you may seen in previous posts, I've worn an adorable pair of custom pink ones, but I was so happy when I came across these on Traffic shoes. I'm actually even happier they're becoming more of a usual trend now for the upcoming season (I remember the first time I wore my pink fluffy ones out, I got so many funny compliments!)  - They're major statement makers. If your style is more on the casual side, you can always opt for pairing this look with some metallic sneakers or even white ones. I love a cool edgy relaxed look!

Denim Ruffle Dress + Meet & Greet

| SHOP MY LOOK |
Dress: The Boutique (Sold Out) | Heels: (Old Forever 21) Similar here | Bag: Michael Kors

Photography: Christine Michelle

A couple months ago I was presented with the opportunity to host my own event & meet and greet session alongside Miami International Mall. It was my first ever meet & greet, and I was thrilled (but nervous I must say). If you know me personally, you know I consider myself really awkward in situations like these. A part of me also couldn't believe there was a meet and greet that was being set up for me where my followers and avid readers would have the opportunity to come out, meet, and chat with me! These were just the little things I would always day dream upon years ago, and here I was....It was quickly becoming my own reality. Major thank you to every one who came out, those who joined me via social media, and the team of people it took to get this all together in just a few short months.

Enough with the mushy stuff.....On to outfit details! Many of you may not know that along with blogging full time, I am also a web director for one of my favorite online stores The Boutique. Obviously it's SO hard working there (said no one ever....) being surrounded with gorgeous clothing all day can actually be really tough. Hence, my recent major spending on new items every time I have to work on new inventory for the store.

This little denim dress caught my eye immediately. Denim has clearly been a trend for quite some time now and I don't think it will be going anywhere any time soon. What really stood out for me was the way the ruffles were designed & placed on this dress.....So flattering! This flirty number was no more than $50 and even though it is unfortunately sold out at the moment, I have linked some other similar faves above.

Once again, thank you for those continued supporters and for those who came out this past weekend! And for those who couldn't make it, I'm almost positive there will be something similar coming up during the holiday season.

Until next post,

Get ready with me: My morning skin care routine with Clinique

| SHOP THE POST |

Photography: Christine Michelle

My mornings usually start at 7:30 am and go on until late and so my skin has to be ready for what the day may hold. I get many questions regarding my skin care routine, specifically my morning one. Today, I teamed up with Clinique & Latina Bloggers Connect once more for a detailed look at what taking care of my skin in the mornings looks like.

Since I was 15 years old, my mother always taught me the importance of skincare and the early benefits of doing so. Like many of us, we are usually on the run and may not have the luxury to spend hours or tons of money on our skin. With that said, I wanted to find the perfectly fitted products for my type of skin which included no more than 4 items. Clinique offers a skin diagnostic on their site in which anyone can visit and take. Upon answering a group of questions regarding your skin type, the environment you live in, and even how many hours of sleep you get a day, the products best fitted for you are recommended within seconds. See below the steps I take every morning to perfect my skin.

Step 1:
As soon I wake up (and drink my morning coffee) I head to wash my face with the liquid facial soap. This soap is great for those who have a combination oily & dry skin, such as myself. I use this twice daily, morning and evening. I like to start my mornings with this, because it really does leave my skin feeling refreshed.

Step 2:
After my face is fully washed, I apply the revitalizing instant facial. This step isn’t necessary, but if I do have the extra time in the morning I will go ahead and apply this. This product is pretty much a full facial in bottle form. I like to apply it with a foundation brush on my T-Zone (or wherever you think your skin may need it). Within minutes, It leaves your skin vibrant and energized (It also deep cleans).

Step 3:
This is definitely a step a lot of us tend to skip, but I really didn’t notice the importance of this until I visited my dermatologist. Applying a clarifying lotion to your face such as this one, takes away the flakiness of the skin and the oils that usually lead us to breaking out. This is always the pre step I take before hydrating. To apply, I always take a cotton ball and squeeze some product onto it. When applying, I like to dab it into the skin instead of swiping it all over. This really helps the skin absorb the product fully.

Step 4:
After my skin is prep for hydration, I immediately apply the dramtically different moisturizing gel. This oil free formula works in smoothing and softening the texture of your skin while giving it the hydration it needs. I apply about two pumps of this product twice a day daily.

In four easy steps, my morning skin care routine is done! I’m now ready to take on a beautiful day ahead.
I have linked all exact products used above, but just remember that everyone’s skin differs and what may work for me may not work for you. I really encourage those who are just starting to explore skincare, to take the skin diagnostic, it’s the best!

Until next post,

Xo

Dainty mesh maxi

| Shop My Look |
Maxi Dress: Forever 21 (Similar Here) | Denim Jacket: Loft Petite Collection | Bracelet c/o Taudrey "Kelly Bracelet"

Photography: Christine Michelle

July and the start of August have been some of the craziest months for me, I feel like I truly haven't been home in a minute! I just got back from the #BlogHer16 conference in Los Angeles, and I cannot even explain how grateful I was to attend! For those who don't know, or for those bloggers (and upcoming bloggers) who are interested....It's about 3 days of an all access insiders conference into the blogging industry where workshops are held to help you get better at your craft. They also invite celebrity key notes that headline specific topics, and this year Kim Kardashian West was the invited guest alongside many other notable women in the media. It was well worth it, and so much experience was gained along with new and empowering blogger friends I was very lucky to meet. After this weekend, I feel like It was confirmed to me that I am truly where I am supposed to be, doing what I love.

Anyways with that said, I finally got some down time in Miami after all the traveling and events, and this all white number is a farewell to summer (even though we here In Miami have summer, like all year long). I'm slowly starting to transition into the fall vibes and the easiest color to transition with is always white (at least for me).

I was actually really worried this maxi was going to end up looking a little too bridal (in some way), but I was able to play it off by throwing over a touch of white denim (for some reason, this is a trick that always works for me...it really adds a touch of chic to any look). I've linked some of the exact products above, and some similar ones I loved.

Until next post,
