Mauve Makeup Look

We can probably all agree that the shade of the moment is "mauve" in the makeup world. The dusty rose color definitely did not stay in the 90's, as it's everywhere now! I decided to do this super easy makeup look using the colors in the Carli Bybel (one of my favorite beauty bloggers) palette along with its highlights. Although I'm not a huge fan of matching eye shadows with lip colors, I really liked how the ending result looked used in monochromatic form.

I moisturized and primed my entire face before I shot this look. I began with my foundation and concealer on (see products above I used for the face). I moved on straight to the eyes, creating a simple and soft smokey look. The palette doesn't have specific names for it's colors, so it's somewhat hard to describe which ones I used....But, I simply only used three. I firstly covered my eye lid with the second color In the top row of the palette which contains a subtle shimmer. I then moved on to the crease, slowly buffering in first mauve color in the top row (4th color) with a fluffy blending brush. Really take your time blending, it will create an effortless effect without leaving any harsh lines. After I finished the crease I picked up the last color in the top row, which happens to be the darkest mauve shade in the palette. I only applied this shade on the outer corners dragging it up to the crease only a tiny bit. I really wanted to concentrate the darker color on the outer corners. Remember to always blend, blend, blend!

Once my shadows were applied I moved on to falsies. I used my go to lashes the Ardell "Demi Wispies". These lashes are great for any day time look, as they add a subtle flair with a fuller effect. I then applied my L'Oreal voluminous mascara to blend in the lashes with my real ones, and that's it...eyes complete! I always like to shape and contour my face after my eyes are done. To contour, I used the Anastasia Bev Hills cream contour palette. I used colors "banana" & "Havana". For highlight, I tried out the highlight shades that come in the eye shadow palette. I mixed the first and second color on the last row, and applied it to the bridge of my nose, center forehead, cheekbones, and cupids bow. I usually end up looking like a glittery unicorn, but who cares! I love a good highlight.

On to my favorite part, the lips! I have been non stop using this liquid lip color from ColourPop Cosmetics in the shade "Trap". It's the perfect mauve color in which could look good for both any daytime & nighttime look. I'm going to order some more of the liquid lip colors from this brand, because the quality is amazing, and so affordable. I really hope you enjoyed this makeup look! It's the perfect soft look for the daytime if you love the mauve trend like I do.

Until next post,
